i am paul russo's nephew. he was one helluva driver. you shoulda seen him drive around town!

I believe that it was a writer for Car and Driver who wrote that Paul Russo made the "longest, sustained, swooping, searing pass in the history of the Indianapolis 500" to overtake the
three or four leaders and take the lead early in the 1956 '500. I had the please to be seated
with my family on the main stretch right in front of this pass. Also, we were placed very well to hear the blowout of the Novi's right rear tire, watch Russo's entire spin and impact with the #1 turn retaining wall, and his triumphal march up the track to the Novi pit.
